VADODARA, Jan 28: In a major haul of illicit liquor, sleuths of the Prohibition Department seized two Armada jeeps and seized Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) worth Rs 3.5 lakh on Wednesday night. The consigment brought from Rajasthan was to be delivered at two different places in the city, the police said.As many as four people, three hailing from Rajasthan and one women from the city, were arrested with the consignment. Two others, one of them the woman's husband, are absconding.While one of the jeeps (GJ-1-HH-2903) and carrying 595 bottles of IMFL worth Rs 1.71 lakh was seized from near the Harni Aerodrome at 11 pm on Wednesday night, the second jeep - numbered MH-15-TRH-613 - and carrying 689 bottles of beer and IMFL totally valued at Rs 1.62 lakh was caught from near the Gotri Crossing opposite Mother School.Prohibition Inspector M S Patel said that on reaching the Gotri crossing, the arrested, after calling their local dealers, were waiting for them to take the consigment near the telephone booths.
