PANCHKULA, Nov 25: The president of the district youth wing of the Haryana Vikas Party was booked for assaulting two constables of the Haryana police in an inebriated state.

In a complainant with the police Tejinder Singh, a resident of Raipur Rani alleged that Ishwar Singh, the HVP leader beat him up when he refused to give him a lift at Majri Chowk in Old Panchkula.

According to the FIR lodged with the police, the complainant who drives a Tempo Trax was going towards Chandimandir from Panchkula. When he was assaulted by Ishwar Singh and his two companions – Ravinder Singh and Awtar Singh – Head Constable Om Prakash and constable Deepak Kumar intervened. They too were allegedly beaten up.

Ishwar Singh was arrested on Monday and produced before the court yesterday and has been granted bail. But the other two have not been arrested so far. A case under Sections 186, 323, 332, 353, 506 of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.
