Mujhe nahin maloom, kya deal hui hai. Lekin unhone hamen chhod diya (I don’t know what deal has been struck. But they freed us),’’ says Jagdish Nagar, DSP (City), who was released by BKU past midnight yesterday.

‘‘It was unexpected. A few people came to our room past midnight yesterday. I thought they were again planning to shift me and my wife to another location. I did not believe them when they said they were letting us free until they released us,’’ Nagar said.

‘‘We were never kept in one place. We were constantly being shifted. Initially they even refused to provide us with soap and water. It was only after four days in captivity that I had a bath. We were not allowed to listen to radio or watch TV or read newspapers. But they let mediapersons talk to us,’’ Nagar said.

‘‘They are wasting their lives. This is not the age to pick up arms,’’ said Rajwanti, the DSP’s wife.
