I-T dept raids another gutkha manufacturer

MUMBAI, Oct 6: Another gutkha manufacturer, H R Kamath, was raided by the Income Tax authorities as part of a crackdown on about 20 businessmen in the Dahisar and Mira Road suburbs of the city today. This comes just a month after the countrywide raid on the offices of Manikchand gutkha.

The department’s officers also raided D B Dadhia, who is alleged to be Kamath’s financier. The other set of individuals raided is from the construction industry. The I-T swoop also covered the business premises of one N C Gangar, Mansukhbhai Patel, who, sources said, occupied several of Gangar’s flats and used them to conduct his diamond cutting business, Rajendra Singh, and chairman of the Janseva Sahakari Cooperative Bank R B Jadhav.
