CHENNAI, June 16: Indian Airlines regional director (south), Capt. S N Reddy, has said that passengers travelling by economy class will henceforth be allowed to carry baggage weighing upto 30 kg, free of charge, against the 20 kg allowed at present. Those travelling executive class will be allowed to take 40 kg instead of the present 30. Upto 10 kg of baggage for infants can also now be brought aboard free of charge. The Tiruchi-Sharjah flight is to be extended to Kuwait, and the airline is also considering introduction of a bi-weekly service on the Coimbatore-Sharjah sector.
