An Indian Air Force aircraft crash-landed in Pallikaranai marsh, near here, minutes after taking off from the Tambaram Air Force station around noon today.

The two pilots, Squadron Leaders R.S. Nandedkar and Raj Vaid, who sustained injuries in the mishap, were rescued by the villagers and rushed to the Tambaram Air Force Hospital with the help of an IAF rescue helicopter.

They were out of danger, according to an official press release. A court of inquiry has been ordered into the incident.
