IAPSM conference begins January 27

SURAT, Jan 24: The Indian Association of Preventive & Social Medicine (IAPSM) is holding its 26th National Conference in Surat. The four-day conference, beginning January 27, has been hosted by the Preventive & Social Medicine department of the Government Medical College, Surat.

The inauguration, at 10 am on January 27, will be presided over by South Gujarat University Vice-Chancellor Dr R N Shelat, while Additional Director (Medical Education) Dr Sureshbhai Shah will be the guest of honour.

Organising secretary of the Conference, Dr Vikas K Desai, said in statement issued here on Sunday that more than 400 delegates from India and abroad will participate in the conference. Apart from scientific activities, the conference will have cultural evenings and sight seeing/shopping tours for the delegates. The valedictory function on January 30, at 12.45 pm, will be presided over by Health Minister Ashok Bhatt.
