IB warns of fidayeen threat to Advani: Report

Concerns over the security of BJP leader L K Advani has been raised in the wake of an Intelligence Bureau report warning of a possible fidayeen attack on him.

This warning comes as a setback for the party, which was planning to take out a series of nationwide-yatras, to be headed by Advani.

The Union Home Ministry has informed him of security threats and the leader is believed to have taken a serious note of the warning.

The National Security Advisor M K Narayanan is meeting the BJP leader to discuss his security and there are reports that his security has been stepped up.

The National Security Advisor has also advised Advani to cancel all rallies, however, the BJP leader would be going ahead with his public addressal in Jabalpur, which is scheduled for February 6.

But the party is taking no chances and has cancelled all rallies ahead of Jabalpur, including Rampur rally scheduled for February 10.

Advani was all set to embark on a ‘sankalp yatra’, which would have covered the entire nation in 15 months.
