
Imagine this. The top brass of the Government’s Press Information Bureau did not know that the National Informatics Centre has a dedicated and comprehensive site for all of the UPA’s flagship programmes. Instead, the information officers who were collecting this data for Information and Broadcasting Minister Priyaranjan Dasmunshi’s press conference the day after the UPA anniversary bash, first came to the conclusion that such information does not exist. Then they huddled and agreed this information could be under the Statistics Department. The brainstorming ended at that.
