Essay contest on road safety
An All India Essay Competition on Road Safety is being organised by CBSE in the first week of January to promote academic partnerships for quality education and to share and express concern about social problems and issues such as road safety. All Class IX to XII students in CBSE-affiliated institutions are eligible to participate in the competition.
Delhi-Guwahati Rajdhani from January 11
The new bi-weekly Rajdhani Express between New Delhi and Guwahati would be flagged off by Northern Railway
The train will comprise of 1 first-class AC, 2 second-class AC and 7 third-class AC coaches and would stop en route at Moradabad, Bareilly, Lucknow, Varanasi, Ballia, Hazipur, Barauni, Katihar, New Jalpaiguri and Nathdwara. An NR release also announced the introduction of a special 16 three-tier coach train between Hazrat Nizamuddin (departure 11.50 p.m) and Mumbai Central (arrival 10.35 p.m.) on January 1 to accommodate the extra load of passengers.
RAF teams win CRPF awards
The Rapid Action Force (RAF) was adjudged the best marching contingent in the CRPF parade organised to commemorate the 559th CRPF Day. The best camp maintenance trophy went to the Central Sector. RAF also emerged as the winner in the inter-sector shooting and endurance competitions. The winner’s trophy in the brass band competition was lifted by the northern sector while the western sector earned the award in the pipe band competition.
