EME foundation day on Thursday
Ahmednagar: The Corps of Electrical and Mechanical Engineers (EME) will celebrate its 55th foundation day on Thursday in military traditions reliving the pride and the nostalgic events gone by.
The corps has achieved excellence in all the fields: Be it war, a counter-insurgency operation or helping the civil authorities, sports, adventure or just the peacetime garrison duties and training, said Col. N.K. Dutta, who heads the Armoured Static Workshop here. “Never has there been a dull moment in its proactive response to keep the entire range and depth of the army’s arsenal, including the state-of-the-art indigenous and imported equipment such as armour, bridges, guns, computers, complex telecommunication and radars and vehicles in functional state,” he said.
Col. Dutta said “the Eagles” of the command had excelled across the length and breadth of the command zone from training establishments to active strike formations. The ASM is doing yeoman service, he added.
Maj.Gen. V.K. Varma, who heads the vibrant EME setup in Southern Command, told The Indian Express that the anniversary has been an occasion for all the unit personnel to come together and rejoice.
