Pune: Gorakh Saral of Satara today defeated Maula Shaikh of Solapur to clinch the honour of Maharashtra Kesari at the 42nd annual wrestling bouts held at Katol near Nagpur. Chief Minister Manohar Joshi later presented Saral with a silver mace.

Shelke, Daokhar appointed
Shrirampur: Baby Shelke has been appointed president of Shrirampur city women’s Congress committee while Indumati Daokhar has been appointed chief of the taluka unit.

The appointment was announced at a rally of women party workers, held under the presidentship of district women Congress chief Nirmala Malpani. The rally was attended by Bhanudas Murkute, MLA.

Dental college gets nod
Sangli: The Dental Council of India has recognised the local Vasantdada Patil Dental College, Dr. Appasaheb Chopade, secretary of Viswanath Shamrao Patil Charitable Trust, said here yesterday. The trust, established in 1987, had opened the dental college on a no-grant basis in 1989. The admission capacity of the college is 40 per year.

Recruitment in Kopargaon
