20 pilgrims injured in mishapKolhapur: Twenty pilgrims proceeding towards Nrusinhawadi and Kolhapur from Mumbai were injured after the private luxury bus they were travelling turned turtle near Herle village on Kolhapur-Sangli road, Wednesday morning.They were later taken to Chhatrapati Pramila Raje Hospital, here. The mishap occurred after the bus driver lost his control over the vehicle, Hatkanangale police said.The injured include Sunita Delkar, Sunil Sawant, Ganesh Sawant, Vaishali Keskar, Dhondu Chavan, Suhasini Naringrekar, Mahesh Hatkar, Sunil Hatkar, Nalini Hatkar, Saraswati Mohite, Prabhavati Khetle, Keshav Khetle, Mandakini Raje and Pushpa Tawade, all from Mumbai.Dhebe electedMahabaleshwar: Baban Dhebe was on Wednesday elected president of the Mahabaleshwar Hill Station Municipal Council unopposed. The post was reserved for Other Backward Classes and Dhebe was the only fitting candidate.Dhebe is the 14th civic chief of the famous hill station and the first teacher and newspaper stringer to hold the post. Outgoing civic chief P D Parte, sub-divisional officer Daulat Desai and others later congratulated Dhebe.Medical meetSolapur: The 20th national conference of the National Integrated Medical Association (NIMA) would be held here from January 8 to 10. Dr Vinayak Tembhurnikar, organising chairman of NIMA, told reporters that the 21st State-level NIMA conference would also be held simultaneously.Around 2,000 delegates would attend the conferences, Tembhurnikar said, adding that this was for the first time that Solapur got an opportunity to host such National and State-level conferences of integrated medical practitioners. NIMA, the largest organisation of integrated medical practitioners in the country has a strength of 50,000 members.Discussions on urology, neurology, road accidents, role of vitamins in infection, jipanchakarmajr, recent Supreme Court judgement in favour of integrated medical practitioners ect., would be highlights of the twin conferences, Tembhurnikar said.
