In note to Speaker on ‘bribe,’ BJP names Ahmed, Amar Singh

Three BJP MPs, Ashok Argal, Faggan Singh Kulaste, and Mahavir Bagora, have named the Political Secretary to Congress president Sonia Gandhi, Ahmed Patel, and Samajwadi Party leaders Amar Singh and Reoti Raman Singh in their complaint to the Lok Sabha Speaker’s office on Friday.

The BJP MPs, who claimed to be working as whistleblowers to expose the poaching attempts of their rivals, have asked the Speaker for a copy of what CNN-IBN has given his office as “tape evidence” in the case. .

“We have also requested the Speaker’s office to provide a copy of the sting operation’s CD so that people could see it and the truth could be revealed. We appreciate that the three MPs came forward to expose (the parties bent on poaching Opposition MPs),” said deputy leader of the BJP in the Lok Sabha, Vijay Kumar Malhotra. He claimed that as many as 50 of its MPs were being lured to vote in favour of the UPA.
