BRIDGETOWN: Former West Indies pace bowler Malcolm Marshall, who died of cancer last week aged 41, was buried on Sunday after a funeral attended by cricketing greats and humble fans alike.

Wesley Wall, the former Barbados and West Indies pace bowler who is now a clergyman, preached the sermon at a televised ecumenical service held in the crowded gymnasium of the Sir Garfield Sobers Sports Complex.

The pall bearers included Sir Conrad Hunte and Sir Vivian Richards, the current West Indies captain Brian Lara and former captain Courtney Walsh as well as former team-mates Gordon Greenidge and Desmond Hayes.

Karate seminar
MUMBAI:
An international karate seminar and training camp is to be held at Santa Monica, California, USA, which is organised by Goju-Ryu Karate Do Seiwa-Kai, authorised by the All-Japan Karate-Do Federation Goju Kai (JKF Goju Kai) from December 1-20.

A team from India is invited to attend the seminar. The team will be led under the supervisionof Sensei Sharif Bapu (Sandan).
