Gandhi to replace injured Paranjpe
MUMBAI: Bengal middle-order batsman Devang Gandhi has replaced injured Mumbai left-hander Jatin Paranjpe in the 14-member Rest of India squad to take on Karnataka in the five-day Irani Cup tie.
Paranjpe twisted his ankle in a local Kanga League tie here yesterday.“The first choice for replacement was MP’s Amay Khurasia, but he informed the Board that he hasn’t yet recovered from the viral infection he suffered at Kuala Lumpur,” BCCI executive secretary Sharad Diwadkar said. “The selectors, then, decided on (27-year-old Bhavnagar-born) Gandhi ,” he added.

The title-win was achieved via penalty shoot-out after the teams were locked goalless despite 15 minutes of extra time.
