BANGALORE: Sri Lanka will play a day-night limited overs one-day cricket match against an Indian XI in Bangalore en route to Pakistan for the quadrangular tournament there.

The October 16 match at the KSCA Stadium is a Brijesh Patel Testimonial match and has been sanctioned by the Board of Control for Cricket in India.

The Indian team is sponsored by Aptech Ltd, a computer education institution who have announced a unique scheme wherein they would offer a 50 per cent discount on their course fee all over the country on production of a ticket of this match. The winning team would be awarded the Computers Peripheral Device (CPD) Trophy.

Teams: India: Sachin Tendulkar, MoHammad Azharuddin, Ajay Jadeja, Saurav Ganguly, Rahul Dravid, Javagal Srinath, Anil Kumble, Vinod Kambli, Venkatesh Prasad, Abey Kuruvilla, Harvinder Singh, Debashish Mohanty, Nayan Mongia and Sunil Joshi.

Sri Lanka: Arjuna Ranatunga, Aravind de Silva, Sananth Jayasuriya, Roshan Mahanama, Marvan Attapattu, Hashan Tilakaratne, Muthiah Muralitharan, Chaminda Vaas, Sajeeva D’Silva, Lanka D’Sivla, Romesh Kaluwitharana, Ruwan Kalpage, Pushpakumara and Liyanage.

Hari wins rally

SHIMLA: Reigning national champion Hari Singh of JK Tyres clinched the title at Sixth Castrol Mountain Challenge car and motorcycle rally here today. Of the 21 cars which took off from here yesterday, only eight completed the course of 500km with the remaining 13 cars crashing out at various stages.

Singh, paired with GS Mann as navigator, had a total penalties of 2 hour 2 minutes 24 seconds.
