The axis of the monsoon trough at sea level runs close to the foot Hills of the Himalayas. The off-shore trough at sea level from Karnataka coast to Kerala coast now extends from Maharashtra coast to Kerala coast. The trough from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim to north Bay persists and now extends upto 3.6 kms a.s.l. A western disturbance as an upper air system lies over north Pakistan and neighbourhood. System is likely to move eastnortheastwards.

The cyclonic circulation over northwest Rajasthan and adjoining Punjab has become less marked.

Total India: Total rainfall during the past 24 hours at 175 available stations in the plains, out of 291 stations, is 132 cms.

Normal for the above 175 stations is 176 cms.

The southwest Monsoon has been vigorous in Bihar and active in east Uttar Pradesh and Kerala. It has been subdued in Rajasthan, Saurashtra and Kutch, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha, Telangana and Tamil Nadu.
