
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) will donate Rs 1 crore to the Prime Minister’s Relief Fund in aid of the tsunami victims, president-elect Ranbir Singh Mahendra said here today. Mahendra said the BCCI was also exploring other avenues of generating funds. On specifically asked if the Indian cricket team would play fund-raising matches including against Pakistan on their tour early next year, Mahendra said, “We are exploring all avenues.” ‘‘We will be writing to the Asian Cricket Council to seek help of other Asian Test-playing nations to raise further funds for the cause.’’
