PUNE, Jan 10: Indrayani SC Dehu Road humbled Deccan B’ by 2-0, while SRPF Group I downed Canon SC by an identical margin in pool G’ matches of the second division in the PDFA leagues, played today at the Military ground, Ghorpuri. Jolly Boys Sports Club stepped up play in the second-half after an issueless first session to drub Erin Nagarwala SC 4-0, while Camp XI youngsters put it across Warriors 5-0 in third division encounters.

Competing with them for the top spot are the gutsy SRPF team who too have three wins and one drawn encounter. At the Pune University ground, Nitin Gangae chipped in the fifth hat-trick of the league to lead Parshuramians to a convincing 4-0 win against Tigers Combine A’.

Christy Roberts nodded home in the 20th minute of the play which eventually turned out to be the match winner for Knights in the third division against Youth Club of NDA B’. It was not just Christy who was responsible for the lone goal for Knights as it was a perfect example of team work scripted by Lalchand Parmar and Crispin Anthony. Lalchand curved the first flag kick of the match and Crispin who was stationed well on top of the box drew the ball homeward, but Christy did well to avert the attention of the rival keeper as the ball brushing off Christy’s head crushed into the nets.
