PUNE, Oct 11: Maharashtra Labour Union has demanded that a police enquiry be conducted into the circumstances under which Dinesh Palse, an employee of the Super Meter Manufactures at Mundhwa, committed suicide by setting himself ablaze at his home.

Union general secretary Rajan Nair in a memorandum submitted to the police charged that Palse had committed suicide after he was threatened by the owner of the company Satyanarayan Chinta. Several employees of the company were forced to resign last month, Nair charged. A police complaint was lodged regarding the threats given to employees.The union urged the police probe the incident and initiate proceedings against the management.
