The visiting Secretary General of Interpol, Ronald K Noble, on Thursday held talks with CBI Director Vijay Shankar and other senior officers, during which issues like criminals operating from India’s neighbourhood and efforts to tackle such menace were discussed.

Both the sides agreed that the Red Corner Notice (RCN), issued by Interpol, should be accorded greater legal validity and importance by its 186 member countries. Noble underlined the importance of enhanced cooperation in the field of Intellectual Property Rights, Cyber Crime and Human Trafficking. He also highlighted the importance of India putting in place MIND (Mobile Interpol Network Database) and FIND (Fixed Interpol

Network Database) which permit instantaneous comparison of passengers’ passports against Interpol’s 14 million strong Stolen and Lost Travel Document database.
