IOC sales officer bashed up

Vijendra vikram singh, the 30-year-old IOC sales officer at Lakhimpur Kheri, was beaten up by a group of armed persons at his house in Sikatia locality of the town on Sunday evening. Lakhimpur SP N Ravinder said Singh, who suffered minor injuries including human bites, has been admitted to a local hospital. He is said to be out of danger. Criminals had shot dead IOC sales officer Manjunath in the district on November 19, 2005.

Singh, a BE from IIT, Roorkee, had joined duty in the district in January.

Singh, who could not identify the five persons who attacked him, said he could not think of any provocation on his part. SP Ravinder said they were looking into all angles.
