PUNE, Jan 14: Hosts Indian Oil Corporation defeated MRL `A’ 2-1 in the men’s team event to advance into the next round on the opening day of the VI PSCB inter unit carrom tournament at the Padale Palace Hall, here today.

V M Sawant and Shekar Karalkar got the better of D Sekar and R Prakash of the MRL respectively, while teammate B H Maponkar lost to Ashok Kumar.
