Everyone will be happy

If the series now takes place in May-June, it will coincide with the early monsoon and that will spoil things further. What might happen then is a tour as a gesture. It won’t be what fans want, but if the Home Ministry has said this, the BCCI can’t go against it. And it might not be a bad idea to hold it in the monsoons, because the matches won’t happen and there won’t be any results. So everyone will be happy.

Hot Weather Tests

I don’t think May is the right month to play cricket either in Delhi or Lahore. The weather is very much the same. If that happens the series would be better dubbed Hot Weather Test series. I feel we should play during the cricketing season i.e between October and April. May would be too taxing and too demanding on the players.

It shouldn’t be a problem

As a cricketer I want the two countries to play. Cricket these days goes on through the year, so there shouldn’t be a problem accommodating the dates for the series. A slot has to be found. Just keep your fingers crossed.

The players will get a longer break

It’s good because the players will get a longer break. It would have been very nice if India had gone now but if they aren’t confident of touring now and I am sure they will plan it in such a way that the series is played properly in May and nothing gets spoilt.

Better in December

Obviously it will be very hot. It will not be condusive for cricket. Now that the series is being postponed, it would better if India tours Pakistan in December. We are playing Australia at home in October-November and we can then go across the border.

It’s ridiculous

Sports and politics should never be mixed. The politicians should stick to their own business and let the cricket officials do their own job. I understand that the situation in Pakistan is not normal but the government should have realised that before the BCCI sent a delegation to Pakistan. Now the whole situation has become very ridiculous.
