VADODARA, Jan 4: The need to develop an ability to think strategically and act accordingly were some of the qualities required to become an efficient manager. This was stated by V Seshan at a seminar on, Think Globally Act Locally,’ organised at the Bhavans College of Communications recently.
Speaking on the occasion, Seshan stated that the ability to think of multiple options would enable the person to focus his thinking and thus would be able to meet his requirements consistently.
He said that for implementing global thinking the person must also pay adequate attention to customer orientations. Hence customer satisfaction should be his aim.“Global experience is also desirable to explore alternatives, for that the person should know what was going on in his chosen area,” pointed out Seshan. He added that consistent innovation and creativity were necessary for whatever a person did.
“Getting stagnated is the worst thing to happen, such people should constantly conceive, create and develop new ideas,” said Seshan. Such people should have the capability to be a visionary leader and must have the quality of share and care.
Efficient managers should also have the track record of success and have multiple skill and competence and the will to tilt toward success. “The person should have a high degree of professional and personal integrity, he must be honest and sincere in whatever he does,” said Seshan. He added that these qualities would enable the people to achieve their target.
