HDFC Bank’s retail banking services including Net banking and ATMs on Tuesday went out of order across the country.
Customers were reportedly taken by surprise when they could not withdraw money from the ATMs and also found the Net banking service, out of order.
Neeraj Jha, Head, Corporate Communications, HDFC Bank told Expressindia over phone that some technical snag has affected retail banking partly and work is in full swing to get the affected services back on track. “HDFC Bank today experienced a technical problem in one of its system applications catering to its retail customers, affecting certain services,” he said.
Jha claimed that except the retail banking, other services provided by the bank are functioning in the normal manner. “The bank’s other systems like Corporate Banking, Depository, Treasury, Credit Cards etc. functioned normally. The bank is working to resolve the problem and expects resumption of full services shortly,” he clarified.
When asked, how much time will it take for the bank to rectify the technical fault, Jha assured that it will happen at the earliest. “We are trying our best to fix the problem as soon as possible. For us each passing moment is a deadline,” Jha stated.
