He said he would continue with his offensive against Chief Minister Jogi and would not be cowed down by the conspiracies to malign him. ‘‘This incident will turn the tide against the Congress and BJP is poised for gains,’’ said Judeo.

Hardly a couple of hours later, a group of BJP activists attacked the residence of The Indian Express correspondent Ashwani Sharma. They were protesting against the newspaper’s report which featured the VCD showing Judeo accepting cash.

They shouted slogans against The Indian Express and against Ajit Jogi. The mob threw rotten eggs and tomatoes and tried to enter the residential premises of the correspondent for about 15 minutes. They disappeared before the police arrived. Another group of miscreants attacked the office of the TV channel, Sahara Samay.
