South Africa must be wondering when their world cup luck will change. For the second consecutive tournament, they were knocked out after a tie. And for the second time in four World Cups, weather gods conspired to defeat them: tied scores at 229 for 6 meant that they shared points with Sri Lanka, ended up with 14 and crashed out of a tournament they had started as second favourites. So Sri Lanka, Kenya and New Zealand go through to the Super Sixes, the final pool positions depending on what Kenya can do against the West Indies tomorrow. Kenya, though, should be a hot tip for the semi-finals, carrying through the eight points secured against the Kiwis and Lankans and at least two more.
