JAMNAGAR, Nov 16: Within the last 48 hours, about six small and big incidents of thefts have been reported to the Jamnagar district police.Kishoresinh Jadeja, a resident of Momai Nagar complained that thieves broke into his house and took away Rs 20,000 and gold jewellery worth Rs 21,000.

He and his family members were sleeping in the terrace when the thieves entered the house.PSI Sakariya of Panchkoshi `B’ division police station is investigating the case and a sniffer dog squad has been brought to the spot.

In another case, Rajnikant of Sadguru Colony complained that his Luna TFR two-wheeler parked outside his house has been lifted by some thieves. About four theft cases have been reported from rural areas of Bhanwad, Okha, Jodiya and Lalpur.

At Arambhada village near Okha, Sataman Sulemanbhai complained that thieves broke into his house and gold jewellery worth Rs 25,000 were stolen.

A buffalo has also been driven away. The theft was reported from Badhapur in Jodiya taluka.Complaints of thefts of a television set and a tape recorder and looting of a shop were also reported in Bhanwad taluka.

Speeding: Police and RTO authorities have been empowered to detain any speeding vehicle running beyond the prescribed speed limit of 50 km/hr on the Khambhaliya-Jamnagar highway, notifies the district magistrate.
