New Delhi, Oct 27: Jeev Milkha Singh got into the groove for the Rs 28 lakh Hero-Siel PGA golf Championships when he carded five-under 67 in the Pro Am event, at the Army Golf Club here today. Jeev, playing along with Siddharth Sriram, chairman and managing director, Siel Ltd, and Kapil Dev, hit six birdes against one bogey as he made the turn at one-under. He returned a bogey-free back nine to aggregate five-under 67.

In the team event, Rohtas Singh’s team comprising Rana Kapoor, UK Bose and Vinod Dutta scored an emphatic win with a team total of 124 stableford points. In second place was Jeev along with Sriram, Dev and Y Nakano with 117 points. Rohtas Singh received Rs 10,000 for the win, while Jeev and Vijay Kumar, who finished third, got Rs 5,000 each. Jeev earned an additional Rs 6,000 for the day’s best card.

The second best card belonged to Jyoti Randhawa who had three-under 69. Jyoti had an eagle on the 12th, apart from making four birdies and three bogies. He earned Rs. 4,000.
