Athletes from Jharkhand dominated the 14th Federation Cup athletics championships that concluded today in Bhopal. Jharkhand won 21 medals including 11 gold, three silver and seven bronze.

Army Sports Control Board were the runners-up with 13 medals. The best female athlete title went to middle distance runner Sinimol Paulose, while the men’s award was grabbed by one-lap runner Kuldev Singh.

Sinimol Paulose from Jharkhand scored a double by winning the women’s 1500m race in 4:23.71 seconds today. Earlier, she had won the 800m. Army runner Surender Singh also scored a double by winning the men’s 10000m race today. Earlier, he had won 5,000m. Seema Antil upset Harwant Kaur in the women’s discus event by winning the title in 57.54m.
