The Gujjars, third largest identity of the state, should be given their due share in the government, demanded a memo addressed to Sonia Gandhi.

.

Gujjars of Jammu and Kashmir demanded “due share” in the NC-led coalition government in the state and pleaded for making senior leader Choudhary Mohammad Aslam the deputy chief minister.

“The Gujjars, third largest identity of the state, should be given their due share in the government,” state president of Jammu and Kashmir Gujjar Bakerwal Joint Forum Shamsheer Ali Bokan said in a memorandum faxed to UPA chairperson Sonia Gandhi and NC patron Farooq Abdullah.

The memorandum, signed by all the dignitaries of the tribal community, warned “serious ramification” against any sort of “discrimination on the issue”.

Supporting the candidature of Aslam, Bokan said the six-time legislator is the perfect fit for deputy chief minister.
