NEW DELHI, SEPTEMBER 14: JK Tyres, who have been at the forefront in motorsports in the country, gave a grand display of their drivers here today. Narain Karthikeyan, India’s fastest driver currently racing in British Formula-3, flew down all the way from the UK for this purpose. Adding to the glitter was Parthiva Suresh, the latest addition to JK Tyres’ list and said to be a very promising driver. Rallyists Hari Singh, Nikhil Taneja, Aditya Jaiswal and Manik Rakhi were there too, making a stopover on their way to Kochi.

The main attraction was of course, Karthikeyan, who although, is very much at home on the fast lane, but has yet to get over the jitters while facing the limelight. “Um..aha..I am happy to be doing well for India….It is very unusual for an Indian to win in Europe,” he stuttered, eyes narrowing to slits as flashbulbs went off continuously at his face.

Young Suresh showed more confidence behind the mike, but he too had to end his brief speech with an embarrassed smile as he ran out of words. Hari Singh, a veteran in rally, congratulated Karthikeyan on his recent successes and wished Suresh would do equally well.

All the speakers took great pride from the fact that Karthikeyan endorses their product and promised that their association with the driver and motorsport will last a long time.

Sunder wins nSunder Iyer won the 36th Challenger in the Pepsi Pool Cool play-offs at Pep Boyz, Malviya Nagar. Sunder won the event beating Jatin Nanda 2-0 without dropping a single frame, a commendable display considering that he was up against a relatively strong field. Jatin Nanda, winner of the 34th Pepsi Cool Play-offs and currently ranked 21, lost his very first game to a debutant Chandan Sood. He bounced back to win the next eight games, though he was finally defeated by Sunder Iyer in the finals.
