Knowing well that former Union minister V.C. Shukla poses a major threat to his government, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Ajit Jogi is busy trying to win over Shukla loyalists to his side. And he seems to have succeeded in his efforts so far. The latest addition to the Chief Minister’s flock is Dharamjit Singh who was appointed Assembly Deputy Speaker yesterday.
Singh, who hails from Bilaspur district, was always known to be a staunch Shukla follower. He was among seven Congress MLAs who did not take part in the election of Jogi as CLP leader.
