Journey To The Center Of The Earth

A successor to Indiana Jones and National Treasure, Journey to the Center of the Earth is the start of what promises to be another new adventure film franchise. Atlantis, the filmmakers leave no doubt, will be the next plot. And that’s not to say the film doesn’t at least feature all of the landmarks which have come to be associated with such a film: a dour professor, an inquisitive child, a pretty co-adventurer, an undefined source of income, crazy special effects, crazier storyline, big animals, bigger threats, one truly astonishing train ride, some truly harmless volcanoes and three remarkably unharmed individuals. And then there is Fraser; what can you say, he has survived three Mummies hasn’t he?

Don’t go expecting anything extraordinary, take along a seven-year-old, and his screams of delight will make the trip worthwhile.
