LUCKNOW, NOV 8: Former Chief Minister Mayawati today alleged that the Kalyan Singh Government in Uttar Pradesh was going all out to implicate her in the Ambedkar Park project through a ``fabricated probe'' by bureaucrats. The Uttar Pradesh government also removed Mayawati from permanent membership of the Ambedkar Udyan committee set up to oversee the maintenance of the Rs 200 crore prestigious project. A decision to this effect was taken at a state cabinet meeting, presided over by Kalyan Singh. The BSP leader was appointed as permanent member of the committee by the then BSP-BJP coalition government headed by her.She demanded that all the officials, especially those looking after the probe, should be replaced for their ``deliberate bid'' to put her in the dock on the issue. Her statement follows recent attempts by officials of the Lucknow Development Authority to insulate themselves against any probe which could implicate them. They have sent a detailed report to the Government charging Mayawati of financial irregularities to the tune of Rs 50 crore in the Ambedkar Park project.Speaking to newspersons today, Mayawati reiterated her demand that Public Works Department (PWD) Minister Kalraj Mishra and Urban Development Minister Lalji Tandon should be dropped, `` as the construction of the park was being looked after by the departments held by the two ministers''.However, Lalji Tandon has claimed that the LDA had only a minor role to play in the construction of the park and a major share of money being spent on the project came from the contingency fund controlled by Mayawati during her tenure.Speaking to The Indian Express, he said: ``LDA had undertaken only 29 per cent of the total project while the remaining 71 per cent was taken care of by the Nirman Nigam, a PWD department. Money spent on the project came either from the contingency fund or the Finance Ministry, both of which were controlled by Mayawati. How does the LDA come under cloud?''He said the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) was already probing into the amount of money spent from the contingency fund for the park, pointing out that the fund should be reserved to meet emergencies. While Mayawati is putting pressure on Chief Minister Kalyan Singh through regular press briefings and public statements, the latter is systematically working towards checkmating her on the issue. The Kalyan Government, through a Cabinet decision yesterday, ousted Mayawati from the trust handling the Ambedkar Park project.``Mayawati should no more be attached with the project in any capacity,'' the Cabinet said. A CBI investigation as also an Administrative probe have been ordered into the multi-crore dream project of the former Chief Minister. But Mayawati remained unperturbed about her unceremonious ouster from the trust claiming that it was the Chief Minister's prerogative to oust anyone from the Government trust. ``I have nothing to say on this count,'' she told newspersons here today.Mayawati claimed that the LDA and PWD officials were trying to escape the probe by stating that all development works on the project were undertaken on her ``verbal orders''. She added, ``I never gave verbal orders because the PWD and the Urban Development Department (UDD) were looking after it.''
