LUCKNOW, Aug 13: Khooni BJP, Uttar Pradesh chodo (killer BJP, quit Uttar Pradesh) was how the opposition parties today virtually clamoured for the head of the Chief Minister Kalyan Singh on what they termed his failure to put a check on a series of fake encounters all over the state.

The former defence minister and Samajwadi Party chief Mulayam Singh Yadav sat on a dharna in Mahiwa town in his native Etawah district, in protest against killing of a married women in a fake encounter there while the UP Congress Committee chief Salman Khursheed did the same in Lucknow to highlight a number of "fake encounters" in Rae Bareli district.

Mulayam Singh has given a deadline of August 16 to the CM to arrest the guilty cops or else his party in league with the Rashtriya Loktantrik Morcha would lead a nation-wide agitation to highlight a deliberate attempt by the police during the Kalyan regime to eliminate innocent persons.

"There is a political turmoil in Delhi and the fate of the Uttar PradeshGovernment is also linked with it. Kalyan’s government will be toppled within days of the ouster of the Vajpayee government at the Centre. Yet, the policemen have not realised that by obeying his directives to kill innocent persons in the garb of drive against mafia, they are making themselves a target of punishment, both by the people and also the new state head who would assume command after Kalyan’s ouster," Mulayam told a gathering in Mahiwa on Thursday.

Ramkeshi, a married woman was killed in what the police claimed a mutual exchange of fire between them and a retreating gang of Mansingh in Bakewar village in the district on August 10 night.
