CHENNAI, May 26: The Tamil Nadu Tourism Department has earmarked a sum of Rs four crore for developing Kanyakumari. A `Mandapam’ for the late K Kamaraj, on the lines of the Gandhi Mandapam in Chennai, has been planned. Meanwhile, the Tourism Secretary, S Rajarathinam, inspected the progress on the 133-ft statue of Thiruvalluvar, the Tamil savant. About 75% of the work has been completed.
