A blemish-free five-under 65 propelled Shiv Kapur to the tied third spot, while Daniel Chopra was carded 66 to share the seventh position after the third round of the $2.25 million Hong Kong Open here today.

Kapur now has a total of 11-under 199 with Chopra a shot adrift. Four of Kapur’s five birdies came in the front nine and he ended the day five strokes behind leader Robert Karlsson of Sweden, who fired a four-under 66.

Among other Indians, SSP Chowrasia was tied for the 39th spot after returning an even-par 70 to take his total to four-under 206. A couple of shots behind was Rahil Gangjee at the tied 51st position. Gangjee returned a card of 69.

Jeev tied 7th in Japan

Miyazaki (Japan): Jeev Milkha Singh turned in even-par 70 in the third round to join defending champion Padraig Harrington at the tied seventh spot in the $1.7 million Dunlop Phoenix golf. Jeev’s 70, which included a second successive 18th-hole eagle, took his total to four-under 206.

Ganapathy in lead

Digboi: Rahul Ganapathy shot four-under 68 on Day 3 to keep his lead in the IOC XtraPremium Masters golf. Mukesh Kumar also shot 68 and is placed second, trailing Ganapathy by one stroke.
