Karnataka HC judge, wife hurt in mishap

Karnataka High Court judge and his wife were among four persons injured in a road accident at Katra in Jammu and Kashmir while they were on their way to the Vaishno Devi hill shrine.

Karnataka High Court judge and his wife were among four persons injured in a road accident at Katra in Jammu and Kashmir while they were on their way to the Vaishno Devi hill shrine.

According to police, Justice Guru Ranjan was injured when the driver of the car he was travelling in lost control over the vehicle, which skidded off the road and fell into a deep gorge at Kadmal, 2 km away from Katra. Guru Ranjan was accompanied by his wife Vijay Lakshmi. A PSO, Sulaiman of Kathua, and driver Ishwer Dayal of Bantalab were also injured in the accident.

According to the police, the vehicle was badly damaged. The injured were shifted to the Government Medical College.

Station House Officer of Katra S S Sambyal said the incident happened at around 9:15 am and the police rushed to the spot and evacuated the injured to the local hospital at Katra. When their condition deteriorated, they were shifted to the GMC.
