Intensifying his demand for a leadership change in Kerala, senior Congress leader K. Karunakaran said a change of guard was needed to save the state from the menace of widespread corruption that has brought governance to a standstill. Talking to mediapersons after meeting Ahmed Patel, AICC general secretary in charge of Kerala, Karunakaran said corruption was driving the public away from government offices. ‘‘The situation is worse than what prevailed during the LDF rule. Corruption has become rampant. You can’t get any job done from any government office without paying bribe,’’ he said.
