PUNE, Dec 15:SD Katariya set up a title clash with JN Petit after the former prevailed over Shri Shivaji Preparatory Military School (SSPMS) by 27 runs while JN Petit got the better of Muktangan by 3 wickets, in the semi-finals of the Sethna Cup juniors limited overs cricket tournament here today.

SSPMS (D), playing on their home ground, failed to take advantage of the same. SD Katariya, batting first, made a respectable 180 before being sent back to the pavilion. Middle order batsmen Nikhil Patil top scored with 39 valuable runs while 37 crucial runs came their way by way of extras.

Later, a credible showing by the Katariya side halted the SSPMS batting at 153 runs in the 44th over. Anand Waikar headed the wickets tally bagging 3 for 30 runs while Sagar Gosavi, Mangesh Jagtap and Rahul Inamdar pitched in with two apiece.

In the clash between Muktangan and JN Petit, it was the latter’s Parag More who took top honours with his all-round performance as he first took three wickets at the cost of just 18 runs and then stroked his way to a masterful 45. His valuable contribution in JN Petit’s three wicket victory booked him the Man of the Match title.

Muktangan’s Aditya Sharma, meanwhile, was the highest run-getter for the match, even though his sparkling 48 could not ensure his team a berth in the finals.
