Former chairman of Nagpur District Central Co-operative Bank Sunil Kedar, arrested in connection with Rs 150 crore G-Sec scam, was on Monday further remanded to magisterial custody up to May 16, police said. Kedar’s custody was extended by Judicial magistrate first class S. Purwar since he has been admitted to the government medical college hospital here, deputy superintendent of police Kishore Bele told PTI.

Kedar, arrested on May 3, was first remanded to police custody till May 8 which was further extended to May 10. He was hospitalised after complaining of abdominal pain and could not be produced in the court on May 10. After hearing the defence counsel on May 10, the joint civil judge junior division and JMFC S.A. Ali remanded him to magisterial custody till Monday. The court had also asked the investigation officer Bele to produce Kedar on Monday and submit all relevant medical records of his treatment.

When contacted, medical officer Dr Rajesh Gattani said Kedar needs to be in the hospital for further observation and medication since he is suffering from renal calculus or kidney stone.
