GANDHINAGAR, APRIL 2: Gujarat Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel, accompanied by a high-level delegation, left for the United States on Sunday in order to give a fillip to industrial growth and promote foreign investment and infrastructure development in the State.

According to an official release, the delegation will meet chief executives and top management of large multinational companies like general motors and enron, during their seven-day visit which will cover. New York, Harrisburg, Chicago, San Francisco and Boston.

The delegation will also meet NRI’s particularly the Gujarati population to promote trade and investment in the State. The State Government has already created a Non-Resident Gujaratis Foundation to promote cultural links.

The State Government has taken initiatives for promotion of industrial growth in Gujarat and has prepared an infrastructure vision 2010 document which envisages an investment of Rs 1,16,000 crore on power, ports, roads, water supply and information technology.
