Kharar poll arrangements reviewed

The AROs have been asked to set up wireless contact with the Returning Officers. The copies of the model code of conduct were also distributed to all the AROs.

The DC further stated that the official election machinery had been fully geared up and all arrangements were being made on a priority basis for conducting the ensuing parliamentary elections in a free and fair manner.There are nine assembly segments in this parliamentary constituency, falling in five districts of Punjab, and the AROs had been appointed for all the nine segments.

He informed that 1,501 polling stations would be set up for 12,88,850 electorates in this constituency while 1,501 presiding officers and 4,503 polling officers were being deputed for the purpose.

Roopnagar SDM Amarjit Singh Shahi has been appointed ARO for Chamkaur Sahib assembly segment, Kharar SDM Avtar Chand Sharma for Morinda segment, Mohali SDM P.S. Gill for Kharar segment, Samrala SDM S.K. Sharma for Samrala segment, Khanna SDM S.S. Gill for Khanna segment, Nabha SDM Shiv Dular Singh Dhillon for Nabha segment, Amloh SDM Lakha Singh Jammu for Amloh segment, Fatehgarh Sahib SDM Jora Singh Thind for Sirhind segment, and Dhuri SDM Husan Lal for Dhuri assembly segment.

Roopnagar Senior SSP Ranbir Singh Khatra was also present at the meeting.
