AMBALA, Jan 29: The Kranti Yatra proposed to be led by the Haryana Pradesh Congress Committee president Bhupinder Singh Hooda, originating from Panchkula Assembly Constituency represented by Chander Mohan, son of former Chief Minister Bhajan Lal, is likely to face rough weather at its starting point itself.

The supporters of the Bhajan Lal faction are doing everything to ensure that the yatra, led by the HPCC president Hooda, from Panchkula to Jind, be a poor show without enlisting the support of the party workers on its route. The organisers of the yatra at different halting points, throughout the parliamentary constituency, have been approached and are being discouraged to associate with the proposed yatra so that the rallies to be organised there fail to catch the eye of the rank and file in particular and the public, in general.

There main contention is that Hooda has his eyes on the Chief Ministership of the state and the present yatra is only a gimmick to attract the attention of the All India Congress High Command and its president Sonia Gandhi.

Hooda had never criticised Bansi Lal even during the critical days of the prohibition, they argue and allege that the two have a mutual understanding due to their vested interests.

Efforts were made to dissuade the party workers loyal to Chander Mohan from keeping away at the halting points at Ramgarh and Barbal in Panchkula district but they, including a former MLA and a state functionary of the Congress Sewa Dal, have ignored the pressure being built on them and is busy making arrangements to receive the yatries on the first day of yatra. The party workers at Naraingarh, Ambala and Ambala Cantonment, under the command of DCC (Rural) president B. Gupta and DCC Urban Ambala Cantt president Brij Anand, are enthusiastic about making the yatra a success and are busy making arrangements at the halts at Shehzadpur, Panjokhra Sahib, Ambala, Ambala Cantonment and Saha.
