Kumble and Sriram back; Irfan dropped

The national selectors today appointed Rahul Dravid as the captain for the remaining two matches after Sourav Ganguly was slapped a six-match ban.

Virender Sehwag has been named as Dravid’s deputy.

The selectors also brought in Anil Kumble and S Sriram for the remaining matches of the series. Paceman Irfan Pathan, who had a poor Test series and was struggling to find form, had been omitted from the squad.
