President’s Rule was the only option left in crisis-ridden Jharkhand, RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav said on Tuesday. Yadav also predicted that the state might be spared of early polls, as someone might cobble up majority and stake claim to government formation .
“Apart from President’s rule, the state is hardly left with any other option,” Lalu said while reiterating his earlier stand that he was ready to support JMM chief Sibu Soren provided he secures the support of Independent MLAs.
Saying that the BJP wanted early polls in the state, Lalu said: “Yes, President’s rule cannot continue for a long time. But before that someone might gather majority and stake claim.”
It is widely believed that Lalu has the potential to turn the table in Jharkhand and is the main stumbling block in the path of Soren’s chief ministerial aspirations.
