Pakistani lawyers will stage a protest march on the capital unless judges axed by President Pervez Musharraf during his November emergency rule are restored, the detained leader of protesting attorneys said Wednesday.Aitzaz Ahsan told reporters inside his Lahore residence where he has been held for over three months that the Opposition victory in Monday’s parliamentary election was an “eye-opener” for Musharraf that should persuade him to quit.“I think Gen Musharraf has no other option but to resign,” said Ahsan, president of the Pakistan Supreme Court Bar Association. Musharraf’s spokesman Rashid Qureshi said on Tuesday the President intends to work with the new Government and will serve out his term that expires in 2012. Ahsan came into the limelight last year when he toured the country with Iftikhar M Chaudhry, the Chief Justice who was sacked by Musharraf.
